Raj Bhogal
Raj has exclusively worked in plaintiff personal injury. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Raj worked as a private investigator for some of Canada's largest insurance companies. He now uses that unique experience to help his clients.
His practice includes serious motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, disability denials, life insurance denials, sexual assault, and product liability. He also has a special interest in representing victims of domestic and international aviation accidents. Raj has won cases against some of the world's largest airline carriers.
Raj's track record speaks for itself. In Ponych v. Klose, 2023 BCSC 1504, his client was awarded just under $2 million in damages after a lengthy trial.* The defence argued Raj's client did not sustain a brain injury and that his decision to sell his business many years later was unrelated to the accident. These arguments were rejected by the court and his client prevailed.
In Kler v. Kumar, 2023 BCSC 1515, the insurance company argued Raj's client's spinal cord injury was not accident-related and his client should not be awarded money for future income loss since he earned more money after the accident. These arguments were not accepted and the court awarded Raj's client several hundred thousand dollars in damages.*
Raj is fluent in Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu.
Raj is licensed to practice in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario.
When not working hard for his clients, Raj enjoys downhill skiing, spending time with his nieces and nephew, and trying new restaurants with his wife.
*past results are not an indication of future results. Each case turns on its own unique set of facts.
